Welcome to Charles Street School

Charles Street School (CSS) has an enrollment of approximately 500 students in preschool through sixth grade.

Our preschool program is designed to bring together children with special needs with their typically developing peers in a collaborative classroom environment where students experience a variety of early reading and math concepts, language development, fine and gross motor skills, related arts and social skills. The curriculum used in this program is state approved, developmentally appropriate, and based on best practice in early childhood education. Our three and four year old half day Preschool program supports our students with special needs in collaboration with their typically developing peers in AM or PM sessions. The 4 year old typical Preschool program is tuition based, open to Palmyra resident children who are four years old by October 1st.

For more information for the preschool program, or to register your child in the Palmyra School District, please contact the Palmyra School District's Registrar's Office at (856)786-9300, ext. 1000.

Kindergarten is a full-day program, and along with grades first through sixth, the educational emphasis is on meeting the needs of the whole child. Meaningful instruction is provided to each student.

Special education, 504 provisions and enrichment programs are provided as indicated. All students take part in the related arts classes which includes: Art, Music, Computers, Library/Media, and Health and Physical Education.  Grades five and sixth also participate in a World Language program.

Child care is available from the end of the school day until 5:45PM at a reasonable cost.

The staff of Charles Street School values working closely with parents/ guardians and the Palmyra community in putting children first!
