The Winter Track & Field Teams competed Monday at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island. With more than 150 athletes in several events, earning a top-25 finish was a significant accomplishment.
The following Panthers placed in the top 25:

  • Zariah Welch finished 13th in the girls’ shot put.
  • Patrick Broadbelt placed 19th in the 800 meters, cutting three seconds off his personal best,
  • John Hammond placed 21st in the mile and also lowered his personal best by three seconds.
  • Josh Carter earned an impressive 6th-place finish in the high jump.
  • Brock Weaver placed 15th in the triple jump,
  • Mike Kozlowski finished 10th in the pole vault.
On Thursday, the boys and girls track teams competed at the NJSIAA State Relays and represented Palmyra with pride.
The boys’ shuttle hurdle relay team of Brock Weaver, Josh Carter, Brandon Howell, and Brian Festenstine finished 8th in the state, an outstanding achievement against top competition.
The boys’ sprint medley relay of John Hammond, Aaron Clark-Wells, Michael Monroe, and Pat Broadbelt placed 17th overall while cutting an impressive 17 seconds off their previous time.
In even more exciting news, three Panther athletes were selected to compete at the Nike Elite Meet at the University of Pennsylvania.  Selection is reserved for the top 20 athletes in South Jersey, making this a tremendous honor.  Congratulations to Mike Kozlowski (Pole Vault), Josh Carter (High Jump), and Maddie Grimes on this outstanding accomplishment! 🐾🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️
