Weekly Athletics Update

-and NOW from our SPORTS DESK - Athletic Director Mike Papenberg reports: Good Morning Everyone! Hope you all enjoyed your snowy weekends! Here is a look at how our student-athletes performed last week:
The Girls Basketball Team won their lone game during the week crushing Burlington Township, 56-36. Jada Coefield-Elie led the scoring with 12 points while Jillian Hines recorded a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds. The girls will return to play tomorrow at home against Riverside at 4PM.
The Boys Basketball Team went 1-1 on the week. The boys opened the week with a game against the #8 team in South Jersey, Holy Cross. The boys lost 74-45 but represented us well. Jayden Boone scored 13 points and Jesahi Robinson added 12 points to lead the Panthers.
The boys took on Group 3 Nottingham High School on Saturday and came back with a huge powerpoint win, 55-51. Jesahi Robinson had a monster game scoring 17 points including 4-3 pointers to lead the Panthers. Da’Shon Edmonds added 14 points and Julian Corry chipped in 11 points. The boys are now 11-2 on the season and will travel to Riverside for their next game on Wednesday. The Willingboro Game link is here.
The Wrestling Team lost to Pemberton on Wednesday, 60-21. Chase Mulherin and Ian Smith both won by pin to earn points for the Panthers. Burak Sayin won by decision and Chase Moritz won by forfeit to complete the Panthers scoring.
The Panthers then traveled to Lenape High School for the Burlington County Open on Friday and Saturday. The Panthers wrestled hard and Deakon Haines finished in 3rd place in the County. The boys will return to action today at home vs Burlington Township at 530PM.
On Wednesday, three members of the Winter Track & Field Teams competed in the Nike Elite Meet at the University of Pennsylvania. Athletes must rank in the top 20 in South Jersey to qualify for this prestigious event. Madison Grimes competed in the long jump, Josh Carter in the high jump, and Mike Kozlowski in the pole vault. Mike Kozlowski placed 10th overall and tied his personal best in the pole vault.

The Middle School Boys Basketball Team defeated Achievers Academy on Tuesday, 47-42. Bennett Hart led the scoring with 28 points and Jason Durant added 8 points while Braylen Wise chipped in 7 points. The boys will host Thrive Charter School tomorrow at Charles Street School.
The Middle School Girls Basketball Team did not play last week and will return to action tomorrow against Thrive Charter School at Charles Street School.
