A Message from our NEW Superintendent on her 1st Day:
Dear Palmyra Families, Students, and Staff,
I’m so grateful for the chance to introduce myself as your new Superintendent. My name is Florencia Norton, and for those who don’t know me yet, I’ve been fortunate to serve as the district’s Director of Curriculum & Instruction and as Preschool Principal. Working here has been the greatest joy of my career, and I can honestly say I love coming to work every day because of this community.
Over the past few years, we have made real progress together, from expanding programs to helping our kids succeed to strengthening our preschool and adding new opportunities for our middle and high school students. None of this would have been possible without the dedication of our staff, the support of our families, and the incredible spirit of our students.
I’m excited to keep building on what we have started. My commitment is simple: to make sure every student feels supported and challenged, every staff member feels valued, and every family feels connected to our schools. Palmyra is a special place, and I’m proud to be a part of it.
In the next few weeks, I will be hosting an informal event where we can meet, talk, and share ideas about how we can make our district even better. I hope you will join me.
I also want to thank Mr. Pease for his mentorship and for welcoming me into this role, and I’m grateful to the Board of Education for their support.
Thank you for the trust you place in our schools. I’m looking forward to a great year ahead and many more together.
With appreciation,
Florencia Norton

A Message from Mr. Mark Pease, Interim Superintendent:
Dear Students, Parents, Staff and Palmyra Board of Education,
Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to come back and lead this amazing School District for the last two years. From the moment I was hired as a Vice Principal back in 2007 to my last day today as Superintendent, my time here in Palmyra has been special. I have met many wonderful people over the years and I am thankful for each and every one of you. The memories I have of Palmyra will always hold a special place in my heart.
Although my time as an employee of the Palmyra School District will be ending today, Monday, June 30, 2025, I will be back to enjoy the arts in our new auditorium, to catch a track meet on our new all-weather track, to visit the new offices and classrooms, to have lunch (or pancakes) in our spacious high school cafeteria, and also to bring my son back each year for Coach Papenberg’s Soccer Camp.
Instead of saying goodbye, I am going to say “See you soon” and “Thank you”. It has truly been my pleasure to serve this phenomenal school district and the community of Palmyra.
Be Great, Be Kind, And as Always…..Go Panthers Go!

Dear Parents and Guardians of the Class of 2025,
Tonight is the night!
Important Reminders:
All guests who are able should enter from Arch Street (see graphic).
All guests with limited mobility who require assistance from school personnel, please enter through the small parking lot on Race Street and Third Street. It is our intention to seat folks with limited mobility toward the front of the seating area, but this will require moving through short grass. If someone requires to move exclusively on pavement, please enter at the Arch Street entrance and you will be escorted to the paved area (depicted with a blue hexagon below).
Please wear footwear that would be suitable for an outdoor ceremony taking place on grass and be prepared for the possibility of inclement weather.
The Ceremony begins promptly at 6:30pm. Gates open at 6:00pm. We encourage guests to arrive early.
Please fill every seat upon arrival. We want to utilize all of the chairs we have.
If handicapped seating is required for a family member who has a ticket, please contact Mrs. Cecchini at ext. 3157 or [email protected] to reserve their seat. One additional family member, with a ticket, may accompany them.
As a reminder, the graphic for the Class of 2025 commencement Ceremony is below.
Thank you for joining us to celebrate this fantastic group of young people on this special day.
