-and NOW from our SPORTS DESK - Athletic Director Mike Papenberg reports: Good Day Everyone! We hope that you had a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend! Here is a look at how our athletes performed last week as we begin to close out the spring sports season. We have a busy day today with 3 teams having playoff matches and Dean Maute participating in the BCSL Golf Open!

The Boys Track & Field Team duo of Sam Adams and Jaleel Latimore are gearing up for this Friday/Saturday. They will be competing at the NJSIAA Group 1 State Championships in Franklin in the shotput/discus(Sam Adams) and high jump(Jaleel Latimore). Make sure to wish them luck this week!
The Baseball Team went 1-1 on the week. The boys opened the week with a 10-3 win over rival Burlington City High School on Monday. Noah Vaughn had 4 hits for the Panthers. Steve Peltz and Justin Dellisanti each added 3 hits each. Nate Bachich also had a big day with 2 hits and 3 RBI’s. Anthony Morgenstern, Marques Washington and Brandon Howell all had 1 hit. Anthony Morgenstern picked up the win on the mound striking out 8 Blue Devils. The boys lost to Glassboro on Wednesday, 13-0, to finish off the regular season. Freshman Nate Bachich had a double for the Panthers. Steve Peltz picked up the loss on the mound. The Panthers finished their regular season with a record of 11-9 and in 2nd place in the BCSL Freedom Division. The boys earned the #8 seed and will host the #9 seed Buena High School today in the opening round of the NJSIAA SJ Group 1 Tournament at 4PM at Charles Street.
The Softball Team also had a 1-1 week. The girls also opened the week with a win over Burlington City on Monday, crushing them 19-2. Jasmine Martinez had a huge day with 3 hits and 4 RBI’s including a home run. Mailee Kahana also had 3 hits. Sidney Lim, Jisselle Martinez and Elsie Kenson had 2 hits each. Olivia Lynch and Gianna Guglielmucci both had added a hit for the Lady Panthers. Jasmine Martinez picked up the win on the mound. The girls battled Schalick High School on Wednesday but came away with a 6-5 loss. Jadiah Edwards and Gianna Guglielmucci each had 2 hits to lead the Lady Panthers. Aubrey Wagner had a hit and 2 RBI’s. Jasmine Martinez, Jisselle Martinez, Olivia Lynch and Sidney Lim all added a hit. Jasmine Martinez picked up the loss. The girls finished their regular season with a record of 7-11. The girls will travel to Schalick High School again today for their opening round NJSIAA SJ Group 1 Playoff Game at 3PM.
The Boys Tennis Team picked up a playoff win on Friday, beating Wildwood 5-0. Owen Jacobs won at 1st singles(7-6, 6-1), Connor McCann at 2nd singles(6-4, 6-1) and Jaden Jennings at 3rd singles(6-1, 6-1). Jack Timlin and Justin Smyth won at 1st doubles(6-0, 6-1) and Cole McCamy and Nolan Falicki won at 2nd doubles(6-4, 6-0). The boys advanced to play in the 2nd round of the NJSIAA SJ Group 1 Tournament today at #3 seed West Deptford at 4PM.
