Welcome- Let's Get Back!
September 1, 2021
Dear Palmyra School Families,
On behalf of the Palmyra Board of Education, administration, teachers, and support staff, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all our district families for the start of the 2021-2022 school year. We are looking forward to having everyone back in school and enjoying everything that makes the school day such a wonderful experience for students.
The first thing I would like to say is that I am extremely proud of our students, their families, their teachers and all our district staff who pulled together to get through one of the most challenging school years anyone has ever experienced. The pride and resilience of Palmyra never faltered!
As you undoubtedly know, schools will open this year on September 7th for full-time, in-person instruction for all students. Governor Murphy has issued an Emergency Order requiring all individuals to wear a mask while inside school buildings. We will be enforcing this along with any other health and safety protocols mandated. I strongly encourage you to review the District’s Safe Return Plan for further information on health and safety in our buildings.
Please keep in mind that all school vaccination requirements must be met for staff and students to return to school. More information is available in our Let’s Get Back – Plan Presentation and in The Road Forward plan.
This District website continues to serve as your most valuable resource for the most accurate information regarding your child’s school and the district in general. Please check your child’s school website for building schedules and procedures; visit the Special Service’s page for support services and programs; and the Registration page for the After School Program and more. As always, do not hesitate to reach out to your building principal with your questions and concerns.
We have been working hard all summer to accelerate learning and make up for lost time. We have new programs in place, new faces in the buildings, and a renewed focus on academic and social and emotional learning. I look forward to seeing you in our schools and working with you throughout this exciting new school year.

About Dr. McBride
It is with Palmyra Pride that I have been serving this active and supportive community as the Superintendent of Schools since July 1, 2012. Prior to Palmyra, I was the Superintendent of New Hanover School District in Wrightstown, NJ (2009-2012) and the Director of Adult Basic Skills at Salem County Vocational Technical School in Woodstown, NJ (2008-2009). In addition to my administrative experience, I have seven years of classroom teaching that encompasses elementary, middle and high school levels.
Before I began working in public education, I was a Corporate Educator and Information Analyst for Aetna Insurance. I am a proud Veteran having served in the United States Air Force and Air National Guard. During my time in the military (1989-1998), I amassed nearly 1800 flying hours as an In-Flight Refueling Technician aboard the KC-135 refueling jet, and I attended flight school at NAS Pensacola as a student navigator. Having served our country as both a Non-Commissioned Officer and a Commissioned Officer, I honorably left the military to pursue civilian opportunities.
In May of 2019, I received my Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership from Stockton University. I also have an M.Ed. in Executive Educational Leadership, Management and Policy from Seton Hall University (2007) and a B.A. in Political Science from Stockton University (1996). A life-long resident of New Jersey, I was raised in Delran and currently reside in Williamstown with my wife and children. I remain active in my community, volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America, the Monroe Township Economic Development Commission, and the Knights of Columbus.
