It brings me immense pleasure and deep pride to reintroduce myself to a community that holds a special place in my heart. I am Mark Pease, a seasoned educator, mentor, and educational leader with a rich background spanning 30 years in the field of education. Throughout my career, which has encompassed roles as a teacher, coach, Athletic Director, Vice Principal, Principal, and Superintendent, I have gained a diverse and invaluable perspective that informs my approach to this work.
I embarked on my educational journey in 1993 as a high school Special Education teacher in the Camden City Public School District. Over the course of a decade, I combined classroom teaching with coaching responsibilities. Subsequently, I seized the opportunity to transition into administration, serving as the Athletic Director at Camden High School. After a successful tenure within the Camden City Public School District, I took on leadership roles in the Palmyra School District, where I held positions as vice principal and principal of Palmyra High School and Charles Street Elementary School.
Before my retirement, I had the privilege of serving as the Superintendent of Somerdale School District in Somerdale, New Jersey for a span of five years. At present, I am an active member of esteemed educational organizations including the New Jersey Alliance of Black Superintendents, New Jersey Council of Education, New Jersey Association of School Administrators, and New Jersey Principal and Supervisor Association.
My educational journey began at Camden High School, where I proudly graduated as part of the illustrious class of 1986. Following three transformative years at Camden High School, I pursued higher education at Pennsylvania State University, ultimately earning a BA in Economics. Later, my academic pursuits led me to Rowan University, where I attained a Post Graduate Certification in Special Education, and subsequently, I graduated from Wilmington University with a Master’s in Educational Leadership.
Currently, I reside in Marlton, New Jersey with my incredibly talented and beautiful wife, Kimberly Pease. Together, we are blessed with four sons: Mark Jr., Miles, Mason, and Noah. I take immense pride in being an Ojiisan (grandfather) to five cherished grandchildren. I continue to maintain strong bonds with my brothers, cherishing the traditions that are dear to the Pease family.
I am eager to rejoin this community and look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead. Together, let us work towards creating a nurturing and enriching educational environment for all.
