Good Afternoon Palmyra Fans, Our student-athletes had a huge week.  Here is a look at how they performed:

Congrats to senior Elizabeth Shover who was named the BCSL Freedom Division Scholar-Athlete of the year by the South Jersey Coaches Association.  You can see all of the award recipients including Liz in the presentation.

The Track and Field teams had a dominating week!  

The Boys team beat Holy Cross 76 to 54 and the Girls defeated Holy Cross 77 to 26.  On top of that, the Boys and Girls teams both won the BCSL Independence Division Championship at the BCSL Divisional Meet on Saturday at Pennsauken High School.  See the attached pictures.  Our Medalists were:

Owen Riley- 1st in pole vault, 2nd in the 110 hurdles, 1st in high jump and 3rd in 400 hurdles

Maura Russell- 1st in the 400 hurdles and 2nd in the 400

Natalie Sherrill- 3rd in the 400 hurdles

Kwinten Ives- 1st in the 100, 1st in the 200, 1st in long jump, 2nd in triple jump

Rachel Hines- 2nd in the 1600 and 2nd in the 3200

Sarah Agnew- 3rd in the 1600 and 3rd in the 3200

Olivia Falicki- 1st in the 800 and 3rd in the 400

Ava Crean- 2nd in the 100 hurdles

Chloe King- 3rd in the 100 hurdles

Isaiah McPherson- 1st in the 110 hurdles

Cadence Anderson- 3rd in the 800, 1st in the 3200

Aiden Hartman- 2nd in the 3200

Jacob Nault-3rd in the 3200

Girls 4 X 400 was 1st

Boys 4 x 400 was 3rd

Reed Wells- 2nd in high jump, 2nd in long jump

Lauren Gilmore- 1st in high jump, 2nd in triple jump and 3rd in long jump

Joe Russell- 2nd in pole vault

Xavier Mourey- 2nd in shot put

Elizabeth Shover- 1st in shot put and 2nd in discus

Sophia Wilburn- 3rd in shot, 3rd in discus and 3rd in the javelin

Gerald Griffin- 1st in the discus and 2nd in the shot put

Heather Adams- 1st in discus , 2nd in the shot put and 2nd in the javelin

The Baseball Team enjoyed an amazing walk-off win at their senior recognition game against Florence on Friday, 13-12.  Down by 2 in the bottom of the 9th, Matteo Gravano crushed a 2 run home run to tie the game.  Later in the inning, Zachary Kahana scored on Darrell Moore’s infield single to win it for the Panthers.  Senior Zachary Senteneri had 3 hits and senior Zachary Kahana added 2 RBI’s.  Gravano had 3 hits including the home run and 3 RBI’s.  The Panthers also defeated BCIT Westampton on Wednesday, 10-0.  Matteo Gravano led the offense with 2 hits and 4 RBI’s.  Freshman, Joe Elmes pitched 5 shutout innings and struck out 10.  The Panthers now hold a record of 5-4 and will travel to Willingboro High School for their next game today.

The Softball Team also had 2 wins last week.  The girls defeated Camden County Technical High School Sicklerville on Wednesday, 11-1.  Julia Dellisanti had 4 hits and 2 RBI’s.  Maria Dixon and Juliana Rex each had 2 hits and 2 RBI’s.  Maria Dixon also pitched 5 strong innings, striking out 10 to record the win.  The Panthers finished off the week with a 17-2 win over BCIT Medford on Friday.  Megan Dixon, Nicole Ak and Molly Jackson all had 2 hits.  Megan Dixon and Nicole Ak each knocked in 3 runs and Molly Jackson pitched 4 solid innings, striking out 4 to pick up the win.  The girls are now 7-8 on the season and will host Florence High School today at 3:45PM at Legion Field.

The Boys Tennis Team beat Pemberton High School on Monday, 4-1.  Coady McCann won at 2nd singles(7-5, 6-3) and Zach Warnock won at 3rd singles(6-3, 4-6, 6-3).  The 1st doubles team of Austin Forrester and Reid Walker won (6-0, 6-0) and the 2nd doubles team of Ben Small and Cormac Riley also won(6-0, 6-0).  On Saturday the Panthers competed at the BCSL Open.  The JV doubles team of John Liebe and Richie Butler finished in 2nd place.  See the attached photo with their medals.  The boys enter this week with a record of 5-6 and will travel to Burlington Township today for their next match.
