Spring Sports Update

Happy Monday Everyone! Our team’s were busy at work last week.  Here is a glimpse of how our student-athletes fared:

Yesterday, Senior Heather Adams was recognized as Palmyra High School’s Scholar Athlete at the annual NJSIAA Scholar Athlete Luncheon.  Congrats to Heather on all of her hard work in classroom and on the athletic fields over the past 4 years!

The Track and Field Teams competed at the Burlington County Open on Saturday at Rancocas Valley.  Congratulations to the top 10 finishers at the Burlington County Track and Field Championships.

  • Tyree Bull 7th in the 110 Hurdles
  • Abdul Iyiola 7th in the 400 Hurdles
  • Joe Russell 10th in the Pole vault

The Baseball Team had a big 2-0 week.  The boys opened the week with a 3-0 shutout over Burlington City High School.  Joe Elmes pitched a complete game shutout, striking out 10 Blue Devils.  The boys followed up their win over City with a 5-4 walk-off win against Doane Academy on Thursday.  The Panthers are now 7-4 on the season entering this week’s play.  Their next game will be at Doane Academy on Wednesday.

The Softball Team had a tough week going 1-5.  The girls hosted the annual Ed Morgan Invitational Softball Tournament on Saturday where they picked up a win over Trenton High School, 14-2.  Maria Dixon and Leannette Alvarado each had 2 hits.  Juliana Rex and Mckenzie May each knocked in 3 runs to lead the Lady Panthers.  The girls now have a record of 7-12 and will take on Florence High School tomorrow in the opening round of the NJSIAA Playoffs.

The Boys Tennis Team lost their 2 matches last week to Northern Burlington(5-0) and Rancocas Valley(3-2).  Austin Forrester won his singles match against RV and John Liebe and Julian Carlino won their doubles match.  The boys are now 6-6 on the season and will take on Pemberton in their next match on Wednesday.

The MIDDLE SCHOOL Track & Field Teams had a meet at Pemberton HS last week.  No scores are kept- our team did well.
